Kesha's LA Mansion Sells for $9.3m After Two-Year Market Saga
American musician Kesha Rose Sebert has finalised the sale of her Mar Vista property in Los Angeles, closing at $9.3 million (AUD) after an extended period on the market that spanned more than two years.
Property Transaction Details
Records confirm the sale settled on 19 May, with the final figure landing just below the singer's most recent asking price of $9.7 million (AUD). Sebert originally acquired the residence in 2020 for $7.3 million (AUD), meaning the transaction yields a gross profit of approximately $2.3 million (AUD) before costs.
The property was first listed in March 2024 at $8.3 million (AUD). That listing was withdrawn within weeks, only to reappear on the market in March this year at the higher price point. The residence was simultaneously offered as a rental at $48,000 (AUD) per month.
Architectural and Design Features
Designed by Los Angeles firm OTT Arch and constructed in 2018, the seven-bedroom, eight-bathroom residence prioritises indoor-outdoor flow, a design philosophy that resonates strongly with Australian architectural trends. Large sliding glass doors on the main level open directly to a backyard featuring a pool and patio area, while multiple decks are accessible from various bedrooms.
The main residence includes an open-plan living and dining area, a kitchen with quartz countertops and premium appliances, wide-plank hardwood floors, and a glass-encased wine storage area. A separate accessory dwelling unit at the rear contains two bedrooms, a private kitchen, two bathrooms, and laundry facilities, providing self-contained accommodation for extended guests.
Personal Touches and Lifestyle Spaces
Listing imagery from 2024 revealed Sebert's personal styling throughout the property, including vibrant rugs, artworks, and textured furnishings. One bedroom served as a dedicated music room, while another was fitted out as a wellness space complete with exercise equipment and a sauna.
The property's rooftop deck offers 360-degree views, complemented by seating and a fire pit. Additional amenities include a spa and built-in barbecue station.
Relocation and Upcoming Tour
Sebert indicated during a DJ performance in San Francisco in early May that she intends to relocate to the city. Whether she has already secured a property there remains unconfirmed.
The sale precedes the launch of her nationwide tour, The Freedom Tour, which commences on 23 May. Announcing the tour on 24 March, Sebert described it as an opportunity for audiences to reclaim their voices and joy, stating that freedom involves discovering how lived experience shapes identity.
